Locksmith for the Upper East Side
Pre-war doors, co-op rules and townhouse entries. We repair and upgrade the hardware Upper East Side buildings actually have, from Lenox Hill to Yorkville.
- Mortise lock repair and replacement
- Medeco and Mul-T-Lock cylinder upgrades
- Townhouse and brownstone intercoms

Built for pre-war doors
A lot of Upper East Side apartments still have their original heavy doors and mortise locks. Those locks are built to last, and many problems can be fixed with a repair or a new cylinder instead of replacing the whole lock and recutting the door.
We also work with co-op boards, managing agents and supers, where keying has to follow building rules, and with townhouse owners who want a modern video intercom without tearing up an original entry.
Our shop is in Astoria, just across the Queensboro Bridge, so the East 60s and 70s are a quick trip for us.

Learn more →Do I need co-op approval to change my lock?
Many co-ops have rules about apartment door hardware and keying. Check with your managing agent first. We work with boards and supers regularly.
Can you upgrade my mortise lock without replacing it?
Usually, yes. A new high-security cylinder fits many existing mortise locks.
Do you install intercoms in townhouses?
Yes, including video intercoms with phone answering, fitted to the existing entry.
